Baby proofing the house - What does it mean?

Biểu đồ từ mang thai đến ngày sinh nở cần thiết

As your little one starts to learn more and grow, they will want to crawl around and get their hands on everything to quench their undying curiosity. Baby proofing your house simply means converting your house into a child-friendly environment. Every sharp-edged piece of furniture, electrical socket, low lying cupboards, you name it- will have to be kept away or covered with softer, more baby-friendly materials to ensure safety for your child. With baby proofing, your child can explore as much of the house as they’d like, without you having to stress about their whereabouts too much.

Here are a few suggestions to ensure your toddler has a wonderful time exploring:

  1. To ensure that nothing’s in the way of your child, you should think like them. Get on the floor to look at things from the baby’s perspective and see what’s within reach their reach.
  2. Any small objects like keys, coins that are a choking hazard must be removed from the floor.
  3. Remove anything that your baby might like to reach out and pull. For example, telephone cords, drapes, chargers, etc.
  4. Small rugs on un-carpeted floors could protect your child’s delicate knees or arms from bruising. Plus, they make for a great home accessory.
  5. Safety proof the entire house by making sure cabinets, cupboards, toilets, etc. have proper clasps that your toddler cannot undo.
  6. If you have stairs in your home, make sure that both ways, going up and down have gates installed in front of them.
  7. They might wander off into places you don’t want them to be, but that’s just their nature. Finally, never leave your baby unattended.
