At this age, Baby may start to sit up on her own. When Baby is able to sit by herself, playing ball is an excellent activity to encourage movement and develop coordination. Ball play promotes strength in the core stomach and back muscles, and the forward/lateral movement will encourage crawling and eventually walking. The effort to catch and roll the ball works on eye-hand coordination and spatial understanding.
